The Starlock push on fastener in itself is a precision pressing and Baker & Finnemore Ltd were able to develop this product due to their long history of producing light pressings from varied materials. The company was established in 1850 as a producer of top quality Dip type Pen Nibs and progressed to supply many industries with components that could either be pressed or strip-formed.

Today Bak-Fin continue to supply the likes of the lock industry with strip formed lock springs, the electronics industry with heat-sinks and heat-sink clips, stainless steel grab rings for easy fix plumbing fittings, retaining clips for infinite applications, bearing retainers for the automotive industry and many more.

We also manufacture non-standard disc / belleville springs, waved / curved washers, knob clips, corner clips, cable clips.

Some 75% of our total production is heat-treated through our modern in-house austempering plant.

It should be noted that the majority of precision pressings that we manufacture are generally made to strict specifications or via liaison with the customer.

Tool Manufacturing

Our well equipped in-house toolroom has vast experience in manufacturing tooling that is capable of producing pressings from various materials. For example; spring steel, stainless steel, brass, aluminium, beryllium copper phosphor bronze etc.

Bak-Fin provides the customer with components that are of the best quality, engineered to the exact specifications of the customer. This can only be achieved by adopting a total commitment to quality through the strict control of the manufacturing process from raw material receipt through to final audit and despatch.
